The 3-year diploma is designed to ensure students become well-rounded web designers and developers in an evolving industry. The diploma includes modules that specialise in HTML, CSS, the ADOBE suite, Dreamweaver, art and more advanced modules, such as JavaScript, PHP and MySQL. Lectures for the diploma commence on 22 February 2016.

“We are looking for individuals who want to gain a world class qualification in web design and web development,” says Darren Fox, director of the Institute. “Applicants need a decent matric, a passion for IT, design and the web and they must be self-driven to work by themselves and have a strong wish to succeed.”

The web design and development field continues to be one of the most exciting and lucrative industries in the world. Due to the expansion of e-commerce, it is anticipated that internationally there will be a 20% employment growth for web developers by 2022, with similar job growth prospects in South Africa.

South African companies are paying, on average, R153,822 per year for a web developer. In the USA, the BLS report of 2014 claims that Web developers made a median salary of $63,160.

Concept Interactive Institute also offers short courses throughout the year including print media design and Ruby on Rails Programme. By keeping the classes small, students receive personal attention and hands-on guidance throughout their studies.
