Full-time undergraduate students with a passion for business and finance are invited to register for the South African leg of the challenge by 1 April 2015. This is the seventh year that South African students will be able to participate in this global competition.

Teams of four compete by analysing a case study based on CIMA's test of professional competency and submitting a 3,000 word report by 20 April 2015. Last year more than 14,000 students took part at local and regional levels around the world for a spot at the global final. Once the reports are submitted and assessed, four teams are selected and the shortlist is announced. These teams are invited to participate in the South African final on 20 May 2015.

The winning teams from all 25 participating countries will fly to Warsaw, Poland for the global final in August to compete for the world title.

With teams representing Australia, Bangladesh, China, Ghana, GCC, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Vietnam and Zambia the challenge promises to be bigger and better.

CIMA Head of South Africa, Zahra Cassim, says, "With four African teams participating this year, we are excited to display the depth of talent coming from this continent. The Global Business Challenges provides students with an opportunity to test their financial knowledge and display their competitive ability. In addition, the competition has previously led to internship opportunities from well-known organisations for many of the participants."
