Jet community awards

The seven national community winners were announced last Thursday, 4 November, at the Edcon Retail Academy in Johannesburg.

All the winners were visited by the Jet Community Awards Convoy which traversed South Africa during the month of October for a period of 25 days to award the 35 regional winners.

The national winners received R75 000 and R1500 Jet shopping voucher. The 2010 winners are

* Sedi Swiswing Mpudulle Blind Bereau from Siyabuswa in the Mpumalanga
province (We Care: Disabilities)
* Vukuzenzele People of Pearston from Pearston in the Eastern Cape
Eastern Cape Province; (Awarding black (African, coloured, Asian) women in
Business)
* Tsosanang Drop In Centre from Mooko Village in the Limpopo province
(We care: Abused women and OVCs)
* Maqhawe Theatre Group from Gutswa in the Mpumalanga province
(Education)
* Phuthanang Batlokoa Handicrafts Co-operative Society Ltd from
Teyateyaneng in Lesotho (Awarding small businessess in rural areas)
* Tlharabololo Investments from Ramotswa in Botswana (Environmental
Waste Management) and
* Batjha Etsoseng Co-operative from De Deur, in the Gauteng province
(Awarding youth [18-25 years of age] in small businesses).
