One more box ticked - our Samrand Data Centre is PCI-DSS compliant

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) is an important requirement for merchants who store, process or forward cardholder data.

Although compliance with PCI-DSS is no guarantee of absolute security in an online world, it remains an important and effective tool to help prevent online fraud. The good news is that our Samrand data centre is a secure and resilient facility.

One more box ticked - our Samrand Data Centre is PCI-DSS compliant

Samrand passed PCI with flying colours

The Samrand facility meets all of the relevant physical security requirements prescribed by the PCI-DSS. In addition, security training and vetting of all staff members who work at Hetzner hosting facilities, is a part of our standard operational procedure. With these operational protocols in place, the process of achieving PCI-DSS compliance was a smooth one. Our compliance offers a measure of peace of mind for our customers who are merchants, and who host at Samrand.

As a merchant that accepts debit and credit card payments, there will be many other aspects of security you may need to address, regardless of where your infrastructure is hosted. However, you can do so knowing that we remain committed to complementing your compliance efforts.

Help is available

Your questions and comments to us point to PCI-DSS being of concern to you. While we are not compliance experts, we know where you can find out more. Establish your and/or your outsourced payment service provider's compliance by getting the relevant information at the Payment Card Industry website.

Completing the PCI-DSS self-assessment questionnaire will help you to determine your merchant level and the next steps that you may need to take in your process of becoming PCI-DSS compliant.
