In my most recent role, I am successfully administering 34 university residences totalling 8000 student accounts. In my previous capacities, I served as an administrative assistant as well as a research assistant at the university's Tourism department. I specialize in verbal and non-verbal communication, decision-making, planning projects and managing resources as well as a hands-on team player with integrity.
I successfully redefined strategies and responsibilities, provided hands-on formulation and implementation of new policies and processes resulting in a more structured and supportive workplace where constituency and employees currently enjoy incentives to work hard and maintain their terms. I monitor 18 team members and measure their weekly performance, and assure their duties are in line with the departmental objectives.
To sum up my skills and experiences:
I display strong interpersonal skills gained from extensive study and clinical experience through higher learning in project management and staff development. I am an excellent team player, considerate and non-judgemental of team member's input and ideas, and aim to build strong symbiotic relationships within a team environment to ensure the team's performance is optimized. I pride myself on maintaining stakeholder relationships and agreements, and create situations where mutual benefits are clear. I am rather straightforward and frank in business dealings, offering an ethical and reputable persona to clients. My experience and qualifications has allowed me to nurture verbal and written communication skills utilising tools such as email, telephone, fax, posters, flyers, sms and Facebook, etc.
Over and above my duties and responsibilities, I have coached my colleagues in using the internet as a tool for knowledge acquisition, and have spearheaded innovative solutions to my lower my departments' expenditure. I have excellent skills in MS Word, MS Excel, Ms Access, Ms Project and MS PowerPoint, and a good working knowledge of hardware and common software applications such as OPA, MIS and ITS.
On a personal note, I am a self-published author and the director of a foundation whose mission is to educate youth in particular about their ancestral heritage. The past few years has seen me juggle multiple complex tasks including business administration, public speaking, product development and marketing to name a few.
