- Perform root cause analysis of complex system problems and provide corrective actions

- Ensure all software and hardware are fully functional and secured with back-ups, and ensure maintaining adequate diagnostic procedures
- Coordinate and liaise with external IT service providers for seamless IT functionality
- Determine and ensure required IT training is provided to all staff
- Maintain a register and ensure all IT licensing in place
- Test regularly and ensure a updated valid DRP is in place
- Implement and execute daily server day-end and backups
- Maintain and ensure valid anti-virus and fire-wall protection & software in place
- Be responsible for optimal line networking including for internal use, Intranet, Internet, connectivity to VWSA servers and all VWSA and DMS applications
- Implement required updates and upgrades of all applications
- Maintain procedural manuals in accordance with VWSA and other requirements
- Liaise with application head offices to log and control software issues and changes
- Ensure efficient password maintenance is in place
