In November 1998, after completing my 3 year Marketing Diploma at Technikon Natal in Durban, I began my career at Gold Crown Investments in Umhlanga, Durban, in sales and marketing. In March 2000 I relocated to London and spent 7 years gaining valuable international experience. I worked for Halcrow Group Limited in London for 6 years in various positions from marketing assistant, bid adviser and team leader of the bid department. In 2006 I took up a new role at Grant Thornton LLP in London, as manager in the specialist bid team, before returning back to South African in July 2007. I started at Conlog in October 2007 as tender coordinator before being promoted to tender & pricing manager in June 2009; where I was responsible for managing the tender department and all Conlog tenders. In May 2014, I was promoted to tender & contracts manager. Over and above my responsibilities as tender manager, I was also responsible for the day-to-day running and management of the contracts department. Most recently, in November 2014, I started a role at the R&B Timber Group as commercial & tender manager. In this role I assist the Group with various commercial functions, and am responsible for all aspects related to tender compilation and submission.
