I love my writing work and have written for a wide variety of requirements
Show profile Hide profileI have written professionally for HQ - Horse Quarterly, AnimalTalk and was the sole researcher and writer for "Braintainment", currently known as "Very Interesting". I started working for VulPro - The Vulture Conservation Programme of South Africa thanks to my other writing work capturing Kerri Wolter's interest. I was asked to help raise funds for the programme and manage their proposal and report writing as well as articles for popular press and some educational material.
VulPro has opened up a whole new world to me, one of which I was incredibly ignorant, the challenge of learning new information and allowing my creative side free rein in the development of campaigns and fundraisers, really motivates me. I have realized through my work at VulPro that my passion lies truly in the educational and fundraising component of my work there, we have shown exponential growth in material, support and funding through my work. Vultures are not traditionally liked or sympathized with by "Joe Public", this has caused me to dig deep and tap into areas of creativity that I didn't know I had in order to create sympathy, empathy and understanding for their plight.
Through my experiences I have thrived on the mental stimulation, challenges and breaking new ground. I have discovered the ability to teach myself how to do a wide range of jobs for my work such as the development and writing for the children's educational website "Kid's Corner" which educates about vultures and has a global following of adults and children alike.
