Show profile Hide profileMichael Wolf is a German designer who moved to Cape Town in 2002. In 2007 he founded Formula D interactive, an award winning design consultancy specialising in the design of interactive experiences for museums, visitor centres and classrooms, using cutting edge multimedia technology.
After studying at Cologne International School of Design [KISD] and École Nationale Superieure de Création Industriélle [ENSCI], Paris, he joined MARS - Exploratory Media Lab at Fraunhofer Institute of Technology to experiment with human-computer interaction focussing on immersive media spaces and tangible interfaces for computer-enhanced learning.
Wolf has received several awards including the prestigious IF Design Award and several Loerie Awards. He is co-founder and founding chair of the Cape Town Design Network and leader of IxDA Cape Town, the local chapter of the Interaction Design Association.
As a member of a mayoral task team he has been an advisor to the City of Cape Town during the 2014 World Design Capital bidding process and has been a member of the official Cape Town delegation to Taipei to receive the news of the successful bid in 2011.
Michael is a regular speaker at local and international design conferences such as IxDA conference 2012 in Toronto, IFIP Interact 2013 in Cape Town and Museum Next in April 2015.
