My background is in agency, corporate, and freelance graphic design experience with a history of leading print and digital projects to successful completion.
I am currently employed at Assegai & Javelin marketing agency based in La Lucia by the Umhlanga ridge. I was employed as the Graphic Designer for the e-commerce company Planet54.com and handle other accounts such as Lonsdale London ZA (general design & conceptualising along with photography image retouching). I have been currently resourced for User Experience and User Interface work for new clients as this has been evident to my employee as a strength on mine and an opportunity for the company to expand their digital offerings to include more expanded and updated UX/UI services going forward. I currently am assisting in the User Experience of a new Dube Trade Port website along with Creative Director, at the user journey and wireframing stage. Other accounts I handle in the agency are Gift of The Givers Foundation, Jumpstart Entrepreneurship Programme, Assegai & Javelin brand and other general ad hoc jobs from the clients we work with. I've grown a great deal creating and preparing Key Visual (KV) artworks and packaged systems for handover to in house designers to pick up for carry through when rolling out campaigns.
Prior to working for Assegai & Javelin, I was employed as a Mid-Weight Graphic Designer at Rainmaker Marketing, "South Africa's leading property marketing agency". My responsibilities in this role included conceptualising brand visual identities & corporate identities with the assigned team within the agency (account executive, copywriter, market research executive, etc), guidelines and branding collateral, executing advertising and marketing materials such as brochures, billboards, street pole posters, digital & social media marketing & web design graphics, and other key design materials for various campaigns. I worked in the design department where I liaise with the Senior Designer to ensure design and art direction on various projects are aligned with clients and agency expectations. A few brands and developments (developers) I've handled are The Tier (Investec, JHB), The Square (Investec, JHB), Umhlanga Arch (Collins Residential), Olive Wood Village (M&T, JHB), Mount Edgecombe Retirement Village (Collins Residential), and many others.
My initial experience in the professional design field was being employed as the Lead Graphic Designer at Bellini Trading (Hypercheck). The position required me to handle all the brands and subsidiaries owned/managed by the holding company (Checkstar [supermarket], Checksave [supermarket], Bread Ahead [franchise bakery], Table Pride Foods [food supplier], Denovo Water/Purlé Power [beverage company], Bellini Trading [Corporate], etc). My responsibilities included conceptualising content with the marketing team, liaising with brand managers, preparing artwork for digital & print production, etc.
