Show profile Hide profileI am a Chartered Marketer - CM (SA) with over 25 years of combined sales (10 years) and marketing (15 years) experience in the FMCG, ICT and 4 years in Transportation and Logistics, 2 years in Film, Film Production and Entertainment industries:
• Seven (7) years in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry:
o In the seven years I rose from the bottom of the ladders as assistant merchandiser, to ultimately being a sales representative.
• Seventeen (17) years in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) industry:
o I started as a sales consultant in the Telkom Business segment, and then promoted to Assistant Product Manager, Product Manager and later promoted to a Senior Manager position titled Portfolio Manager where I managing a product portfolio (referred to as Group Brand Manager in the FMCG industry)
o For seven years in the ICT industry, I managed a team of between 4 - 6 Product Managers, Market and Business Developers and I have lead and taken part in various virtual cross-functional project teams that were responsible for product development and product/ services enhancement.
o I led the product management portion as part of the team that developed and got approval of the very first end-to-end Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) process in Telkom.
o I have performed high-level market opportunity assessment for Telkom's Mergers and Acquisition for business opportunities in the Middle East and the rest of Africa.
o I have performed marketing and sales due-diligence in Nigeria, Kenya, Cote d'Ivoire, the DRC and Cameron.
o I was part of a parachuting team - to perform, set up and execute post-merger diligence plans.
o I spent one year on expatriate duties based in Nairobi, Kenya where I developed and implemented a post-merger plan and performed market development assignments in Angola, Botswana, Cote d'Ivoire and Mozambique.
o I developed Africa Online's high-level go-to-market plans for Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi and Burkina Faso
o I developed Africa Online's integrated ISP pan-Africa channel strategy for the following countries, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
o I was part of a team that developed iWayAfrica's high-level rationalisation plan
o I was a work-stream leader in a virtual cross functional core team developing and mapping Telkom's customer experience management
• Two years (2) years a Managing Director of Lerodex (Pty) Ltd and one (1) year as CEO of KXP Entertainment (Pty) Ltd.
• 1 year with Edcon's Customer Operations as Project Manager - Net Promoter System - Customer Centricity
