SUMMARY
I have just completed a BCOMM. Degree in General, Project and Software Management.
I have over 15 years' of local and international work experience in network, server and desktop support.
I have operated as a field technician, doing whatever is necessary to solve I.T. problems and, on site as an applications test analyst, integrating programs into upgraded operating systems in banks.
I consider myself to be patient, hardworking and understanding. I can work alone or in a team.
My last contract, in 2014 paid about R70,000 per month, but I am happy to set my sights lower to re-enter full time employment after a long break as a university student.
WHAT CAN I DO?
PC and laptop maintenance, upgrades, rebuilds and fixing problems.
General I.T. consultancy, problem solving and basic training.
Smart phone fixes, upgrades and basic training.
Simple office relocation's with related network solutions.
EXPERIENCE
2011 - 2015
For the most part I had been a full time university student. I now have the BCOMM. Degree referred to above.
When time permitted, I did freelance work in general repairs and upgrading of customers computers.
For 6 month in 2014 I was contracted to Barclays Bank in Johannesburg. The bank upgraded to Windows 7 and I was required to test software for compatibility, configure where necessary and, with specialist third parties, solve operating problems.
March 2009 - End 2010 (AUSTRALIA)
3 months in a Melbourne domestic cleaning operation and 3 months farm work in New South Wales (a visa requirement).
2 month contract with Fosters Group (Melbourne) as I.T. service desk operator.
2 months contract with CSL Pharmaceuticals (Melbourne) as I.T. service desk operator.
4 month contract with Wesfarmers Insurance (Melbourne) as I.T. service desk operator.
The I.T. work required the general solving of hardware and software problems by phone and on site, setup and configuration of new hardware and software and general help-desk duties.
2007 - 2008 (LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM)
Contracted to Royal Bank of Scotland as an applications test analyst. Contract ended and world economy crashed.
2001 - 2006
I.T. support technician positions with Dimension Data, Grintek Telecoms, Super Group and Titan I.T.
