Show profile Hide profileAfter nearly four years at The Herald and Weekend Post, I can confidently say that I will meet any requirements for communications related jobs.
I am currently working at the Port Elizabeth paper as a junior politics reporter however I started as an unpaid intern in July 2015.
In the past two years and ten months I mostly covered community based stories that had a human interest and hard news element. I extensively covered the #FeesMustFall protests at NMU before joining the politics team in July last year.
I see myself as a young, vibrant individual who has a keen eye for detail. I enjoy finding that unique angle in a story and build it from something small to something so much bigger.
No matter what story I had pitched or had been assigned, I have produced top-notch work because I am dedicated to making sure each and every piece stands out from the crowd. This is because I have a passion for telling stories and plan on building a flourishing career in this field.
I enjoy meeting new people and being out in the field. I love finding my own stories but I am also careful to follow any brief my manager gives me when a project is passed my way.
Please feel free to google my name and see some of the work that I have done for yourself what I have done in the past.
Given the opportunity, I am confident my experience and disposition would be an asset to the political desk.
Sincerely,
Siyamtanda Capa
