×Show profile Hide profileI am 26-year-old South African women who is independent and inquisitive. I enjoy learning from others and doing research on topics that intrigue me. I value my family and friends who inspire me and who are my support system. I enjoy challenges; I am hardworking and have learnt to share my voice with others. I document my surroundings through drawing, painting and film photography, layering these to create new representations of portraits and landscapes. I am fascinated by how people use space and relate to space particular urban spaces within the city.
I worked at CNDV Africa for 3 months in 2012 as an intern in the landscape architecture department, my responsibilities included; rendering drawings, office administration and site visits. As an intern I was exposed to various project stages in landscape architecture, urban design and town planning.
I worked at Starke Ayers Garden Centre for a year and during University holidays. I was a sales assistant at the nursery responsible for the organisation the nursery grounds and plants, and I assisted customers with their plant queries. I participated in stock take, received deliveries, did quality control and placed special orders for customers. As a sale assistant I learnt to communicate with customers and learnt about a wide variety of plants and how to take care of them.
In 2016 I illustrated the book The Girl Without a Sound. The book is about a voiceless young girl of colour in search of a sound of her own.
I am part of a research project called The Gardens of Europe documenting ornamental and vegetable gardens in Europe an informal settlement in Cape Town.
In 2017 I was one of three artists participating in Constructing Future Cities a research project by Future Cape Town which seeks to interpret, engage and assemble the views of young women in the built environment.
I am proud to have been recognized as a Melenial Maven: 16 South African Women using their platform to push boundaries. I have also been recognised as one of 6 women shaping South Africa's Architecture industry by Between 10 and 5 an online publication showcasing the creative industry.
