Show profile Hide profileYvette is a Fine Art Artist OF SouthAfricanArtists.com based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She has vast experience in Fine Art and has been painting professionally for over 20 years. Yvette has gained much knowledge in the retail world of art and antiques gaining a wide range of buyers. She dealt with the sales of these for over 2 years and gained much know how in dealing with buyers and sellers. She has gained a great admiration and appreciation of antiques, be it art or furniture. She has dealt with restorers and done some of her own restoration in both fields.
1)2008 t0 2010 Yvette worked at Montage art Gallery as curator.
2) 2010 to 2012 Left that position to open her gallery, Art & Antiques Gallery. Here Yvette learnt about websites and building of such. She is an avid photographer and uses her own photographs which she edits herself. http/:www.artantiques.weebly.com Due to the sad state of the economy she was forced to close just after a year.
3) Yvette is currently employed at Picture the Difference Gallery and Framers. http/:www.picturehtedifferenceframers.weebly.com Here she is a framing consultant and curator of the gallery. She designed the website for this company as well. Yvette has developed an eye for good art and framing. Yvette still works as an art agent and has many artists in her books.
The artist side of Yvette:
Yvette enjoys working in various mediums, her favorite being oil paint. The consistency of the oil allows for changes to almost form and dictate the direction to go themselves.
Exhibitions:
Various group exhibitions have been held throughout S.A. exhibiting Mey's works.
Private collections: Ken Denton's personal Coffee book on Eastern Cape flora, done by Yvette in watercolours. Paul Kruger house in Limpopo has a series of charcoal works. Private collections of Mey's work can be found in New Zealand, Australia and Texas. Various corporations have Yvette's work in boardrooms and Wild life Lodges. In P.E. the Sun International Boardwalk has 40 watercolours of Yvette's, Sun City offices as well as in Cape Town.
Education: Yvette studied Fine Art at JHB School of Arts
She has studied art restoration of oil paintings under Anthony Keogh at the Nelson Mandela Museum.
