South Zambezi SHEQ Manager Current
Duties:
Develop and communicate a plan for Divisional SHEQ that is aligned to the overall business agenda.
Formulating quantifiable strategic plans for SHEQ department and ensuring that implementation plan is developed and complied with, that includes, developing strategies to improve process surrounding contractor so as to ensure that the organisation targets are met and compliance is not compromised
Responsible to Develop a culture that develops engineering solutions to eliminate/mitigate risks. Objectives and targets and ensuring that they are SMART
Establish SHEQ requirements as part of the core business decision making processes e.g. capital authorisation.
Develop, implement and communicate Company Strategies E.g. Targets for greenhouse gasses against legislated limits
Responsible for the development of a behaviour - based safety program
Leads the company SHEQ meeting in an attempt to manage Hazardous Incident assessment management
Increased focus on visible felt leadership which requires discernible involvement alignment, and ownership of senior management in safety related issues so as to decrease number of incident.
Environment Management System Management, Maintenance & Continuous improvement
Coordinating EIA programs prior to all projects and ensure that the implementation plan is aligned with the Environmental permits
Working on Water Reticulation project Malawi (Lake Malawi to Lilongwe bulk pipeline & Reservoirs) and Botswana
Application and amendment of the Water Use licences
Budget management, taking into consideration Political issues, Economical issues, Social, Technological, Environmental and Legal issues that might changes
Financial risk management through cooperate risk management, taking into consideration:
1) Project pricing during bidding versus during actual implementation
2) Governance, Processes, Technology and Reporting to enhance Transparency, Efficiency, Compliance and Financial Integrity.
Ensure that SHEQ department is compliant to good asset management guided by insurer parameters
Management representative for Quality Management system ISO 9001: 2015
Conducts internal audit for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
Preparing Project Director in the process of tender documents, compiling all SHEQ related documents during tender submission processes
Assisting in Project close out client reports, aligning with the SHEQ and engineering standards
Integrating Environmental Management laws into operational practices of the business though the implementation of dynamics effective SHEQ Management system
Responsible to implement strategies to improve Civil services, full compliance to all applicable laws while realising customer requirements
Control of the environment & health, especially in issues pertaining application of Water licenses, application of atmospheric licenses,
Influence skills development Matrix so as to ensure compliance to applicable legislation
Ensure SHEQ implementation throughout South Zambezi and all operational sites
Approve and review SHEQ training
Management of external auditors, consultants, all SHEQ related services, monitor quality against desirable results
Coordinating and maintaining SHEQ programs (i.e. External surveillance e.g. Noise)
Ensuring compliance to all relevant regulations, licenses, adapting programs to improve the organizations environmental and safety performance and mandatory procedures
Recommending, developing, and implementing compliance strategies and plans.
Drawing up and compiling scopes all contractor specification in line with the applicable legislation
