Data Analyst
A dynamic and vibrant player in South Africa’s life insurance industry, who are passionate about life insurance and good at what they do including applying these same principles to life insurance cover to create products that better meet clients’ needs are searching for a Data Analyst. This candidate will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting complex data sets to provide valuable insights and support strategic decision-making within the organisation. You will collaborate closely with various teams across the company, to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities that drive operational efficiency and improve customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and consolidate data from multiple sources, including internal databases, external APIs, and third-party vendors.
- Cleanse, validate, and preprocess data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Utilise statistical techniques and data mining algorithms to analyse large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within the data to inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to understand business requirements and priorities.
- Provide analytical support and insights to assist in the development and implementation of business initiatives and process improvements.
- Advocating for efficient and effective processes within the ICT team, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing process enhancements.
- Ensuring that ICT solutions and services meet the needs and expectations of internal and external customers and championing a customer-centric approach within the ICT team.
- Implementing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring business continuity. Ability to resolve problems at database level.
- Analysing business requirements and translating them into feasible ICT solutions, evaluating options, and recommending appropriate technologies.
Qualifications and experience:
- Relevant degree in related field
- Additional qualifications in Data analysis are advantageous
- Relevant certifications or training in Excel
- Proven experience in Data Analytics, preferably within the ICT or insurance sector
The Reference Number for this position is NG58962 which is a Contract position based in Johannesburg offering a salary from R300k to R480,000 cost to company per annum negotiable on experience and ability.
