Mokoena brings more than a decade of experience across brand, communications and impact strategy, having worked across sectors including financial services, telecommunications, FMCG, beverages and resources.
She takes over the strategy leadership role previously held by Muzi Mthombeni.
“The appointment also marks an evolution within our strategy leadership. Muzi Mthombeni is pursuing his own entrepreneurial venture in the tech space, while remaining close to Wonder and continuing to be tapped into selected strategic projects where his experience and thinking can add value," says Wonder CEO Gareth McPherson.
Mokoena says the move aligns with her belief in using brands to drive both social impact and commercial value.
"I'm honoured to be taking the next step in my career with Wonder," said Mokoena. "The agency is perfectly aligned with the kind of work I want to do. As a strategist, I'm passionate about driving consciousness through brands, and the opportunity to help define what that looks like in practice is incredibly exciting."
Her immediate focus will be on understanding the business and exploring how impact strategy can be better integrated into Wonder’s brand work.
